Farm Rio Joins thredUP to Embrace Circular Fashion

Must read

Brazilian fashion brand Farm Rio has officially joined forces with thredUP, one of the world’s largest online resale platforms, to launch a new resale experience that blends sustainability with the brand’s signature vibrancy. The initiative marks Farm Rio’s first major step into the circular fashion economy in the U.S., furthering its commitment to conscious consumption and waste reduction.

Through the Farm Rio x thredUP Clean Out program, customers can now send in gently used clothing from any brand and earn Farm Rio shopping credit in return. Items are evaluated and resold on a dedicated secondhand platform curated by thredUP, where fans of Farm Rio’s bold prints and tropical energy can shop pre-loved pieces at accessible prices.

“We’re a nature-forward brand that believes in joy, color, and caring for the planet,” says the company. “Partnering with thredUP allows us to give our clothes a second life — and to invite our community to participate in this journey.”

The Farm Rio Pre-Loved Shop is now live, offering a curated selection of secondhand Farm Rio garments as well as other high-quality brands. It’s part of thredUP’s Resale-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, which helps brands and retailers build custom resale experiences and embrace circularity at scale.

The collaboration is not just about extending garment life — it’s also about aligning with consumers who are increasingly seeking sustainable fashion alternatives. According to thredUP’s 2024 Resale Report, 2 in 3 consumers say they look for brands that help them reduce fashion waste.

As one of Brazil’s most globally recognized labels, Farm Rio continues to blend its colorful aesthetic with a sense of environmental stewardship. From its reforestation efforts in the Amazon to its new resale platform, the brand is turning its joyful ethos into climate action.
