novembro 13, 2024

The 25th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards, taking place this Thursday (14) in Miami, marks a milestone for Brazil with an unprecedented delegation of 92 nominated artists. In 2024, the country boasts its largest-ever presence at the event, with a total of 400 Brazilian representatives, including music executives and industry professionals, making their way to the prestigious celebration of Latin music.

“We’ve never had such a diverse and large delegation at the Latin Grammys, which speaks volumes about the strength of our music. From Milton Nascimento, a living legend, to young talents from the urban music scene, from funk to sertanejo, we showcase a wealth of genres,” said Marcelo Castello Branco, head of the Brazilian delegation.

Among this year’s prominent nominees are chart-topping names like Anitta, Xande de Pilares, and Iza. In the Portuguese-language categories, artists such as Dennis DJ, Gloria Groove, Luísa Sonza, Pedro Sampaio, and MC Carol are up for awards, competing across genres and showcasing the richness of Brazilian music.

Luísa Sonza, nominated for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album and Best Portuguese Language Song, will take center stage as a lead presenter, alongside María Becerra and Juliana. Brazilian legend Lulu Santos will also receive the 2024 Award for Musical Excellence from the Latin Recording Academy, joining an esteemed group of past honorees like Rita Lee, João Bosco, and Milton Nascimento.

With Brazil’s biggest names in music gathering in Miami for this year’s Latin Grammy Awards, the world will once again have the chance to experience the vibrant and eclectic spirit of Brazilian music on a global stage.
