Hollywood Star’s Endorsement Ahead of Big Match Delights Tricolor Supporters
American actor and rapper Jaden Smith caused a stir among São Paulo FC fans on Sunday as he took to social media to share two photos donning the club’s number 2 shirt. The 25-year-old, son of Hollywood star Will Smith, has a partnership with New Balance, the current supplier of São Paulo FC’s uniforms.
In a playful nod to his famous film “In Search of Happiness” from 2006, in which he starred alongside his father, São Paulo FC joked on their profile that the actor had “found happiness” in their jersey.
The post quickly garnered attention from Tricolor fans and even drew a response from the club’s President, Julio Casares.
With nearly 20 million followers on Instagram, Jaden’s endorsement couldn’t have come at a better time for São Paulo FC, as it preceded a crucial Brazilian football classic against their arch-rival, Palmeiras, scheduled for the following day.
